She lay there in silence, willing sleep to come to her. The she-cat had only done this once before with no success. She was as comfortable as one could be in the Abyss, her heart rate slowing as exhaustion fell upon her. Soon, she was a spirit in the mortal realms.
"Shiningstar," she whispered into a tom's ear, "Shiningstar." "Who's there?" the tom asked, his eyes searching. "It matters not," the spirit chuckled darkly, "I come to offer you something." "What is it?" Shiningstar smiled, his interests piqued. "Power," she continued, "Power like you couldn't imagine." Though this was a false promise, it was nice to tempt the mortals every once in a while, or so she had heard from some of the older Abyss cats. "I already am leader of StormClan," the tom protested, "What more could I want?" Shadowfeather stepped around to the front of Shiningstar. "More cats," she said simply, "Take another clan by force." Nevermind that you may die in the process she added silently to herself. "That's against the code," Shiningstar mused, "I'd be stripped of my title." "Nevermind the code, you insolent fool!" Shadowfeather hissed, "You want more power, yes?" "Who wouldn't?" he replied, his tail tip twitching madly. "Then take over weak SkyClan," Shadowfeather growled, "They're pushovers. Do this and you will be the most powerful leader in the history of the clans!" Shiningstar smiled and Shadowfeather disappeared, her celestial body waking up. "Ah," she sighed and stretched out her body, "Wonderful. Mortals are so stupid."

the child without a name grew up to be the hand to watch you, to shield you or kill on demand the choice he´d made he could not comprehend his blood a grim secret they had to command On the edge of the valley, he stared in, eyes not wavering, but at the same time not seeing. He was lost in thought. He longed to go in, to use its darkness to reach for anyone who might have heard of him, to tell them he didn't mean to do what he'd done. But yet the darkness of it repelled him, kept him standing there. His eyes, filled with a mix of almost every emotion, bore down upon the valley until they lit upon something moving, ever so slightly. He didn't really recognize the cat, but he didn't really notice many. He'd look at them, but as soon as he looked away, he forgot what they looked like, who they were.
Now it was simple curiosity which overwhelmed the battle between fear and longing, and, before he knew what he was doing, he was heading down the slope. He was always like this, heading for someone, in the faintest of hopes it was Redfang, for he knew Seraphstar and Mapleclaw wouldn't come here. No, they were finally together again, the siblings who were inseparable. He froze as he realized it wasn't his brother. What am I doing? Redfang wouldn't be here either. I may as well give up. They'll never know what realy happened. He thought, even though he stayed frozen there, still looking, but still not seeing.

Shadowfeather swivelled her ears backwards, but heard nothing. "Is someone there?" she called, "If so, show yourself coward." The she-cat turned herself and sat down, still pleased with the work she had done. Tempting her old clan's newest leader, still young in his position.
[Sorry...kinda lost what I was going to say.]

the child without a name grew up to be the hand to watch you, to shield you or kill on demand the choice he´d made he could not comprehend his blood a grim secret they had to command Quicksilver growled and stalked forward, her attitude, as with the attitude of all the cats here, pushing at his temper again. If it was possible for him to kill her, he would be trying by now. But it wasn't worth it.
I am no coward. I simply mistook you for someone else.
He hissed, sitting down in a place where, if her eyes were used to the dark, she could see him as he, out of habit from life, cleaned his paw of nothingness, then placed it back down.

"A coward by all means, tom," Shadowfeather sneered, "You sit a distance away, as though you fear I will attack. What is it you seek?" The blue eyes of the cat twinkled, but the twinkle vanished as soon as it had come up. "Or whom do you seek, more like," she continued, "I have seen hide nor tail of any others, save yourself."

the child without a name grew up to be the hand to watch you, to shield you or kill on demand the choice he´d made he could not comprehend his blood a grim secret they had to command He simply rolled his eyes as best a cat can.
Say what you will. Words are nothing anyway.
He replied, more with a bitter tone than one of hate. However, his fur bristled as she asked who he was looking for. He wasn't even sure they were here, so why should he care to answer, really?
And it's none of your business who I'm looking for, so stay out of it!

"Just a smiple question tom," the cat smiled, "No need to get offended." Shadowfeather stood up and trotted over to him. "I shan't kill you, nor will I attack you," she continued, her blue eyes bright, "Just answer my question and I shall be on my merry way."

the child without a name grew up to be the hand to watch you, to shield you or kill on demand the choice he´d made he could not comprehend his blood a grim secret they had to command You can't kill me anyways. And I said stay out of it.
He growled back, standing up, keeping his eyes on her every movement. Being tricked into betraying the clan he called his, Skyclan, he had become quite good at observing, reading movements, and the like. However, in the darkness of this accursed land, it was harder to see and his eyes narrowed ever so slightly. He had been here a long time, so long he should have been used to it. Little did he know it was a slight sign he didn't belong here.

"Good night you're difficult!" she hissed, turning her course away from him, "All I did was ask you a simple question and you have a hissy fit over it." Shadowfeather chuckled slightly at this and stopped. "Defensive," her voice was filled with laughter now, "You must really like the cat you're trying to find, or you're related. Simple as that."

the child without a name grew up to be the hand to watch you, to shield you or kill on demand the choice he´d made he could not comprehend his blood a grim secret they had to command He actually smiled faintly and a purr of laughter erupted from his throat. Not so much at what she said, but what his reply would be.
You could say both and you could say neither. It all depends on your point of view.

"Well," Shadowfeather purred, "Aren't you the little trivia box today?" The she-cat sat back down to stare at Quicksilver intently. The cat was trying to figure him out, and failing.

My whole life was a mystery. I suppose I just got used to it.
He replied, making at least a bit of sense this time, even if he wasn't explaining himself.
