all that i'm living for all that i'm dying for all that i can't ignore alone at night As quiet as a barren land without wind, the brown leopard spotted tabby made her way along the pleasantly dark path that led to a small, equally dark pool. It wasn't cold, nor was it too warm. The temperature, like usual, was just right. No rumbles of hunger came from any of the cats she had left behind, not right now, anyway, and some could say it was the perfect life.
Except that it was there the problem lied. This wasn't life, it wasn't supposed to be. They weren't supposed to feel hunger, or thirst, or pain, or old age. They were supposed to stay eternally as they were, all deformities such as blindness fixed. But suddenly, as soon as they were given a prophecy for themselves, the cats had begun feeling these things that should have been left behind when they died with the clans. Those were things of true life, something this was not, so why were they haunting the cats of the skies once again?
An observation this very she-cat had made was that the stars in those cats' fur had faded. They were still there, but barely. It wasn't so much that their stars had faded that worried her, but something else entirely. It had happened before the symptoms came. That added onto her worry for one main reason; It was happening to her. She couldn't see the fading yet, but she could sense it.
Falconstar stopped at the edge of the pool , not daring to let her paws touch the edge of the water as she always did before. The glow of the stars in the water soothed her, but only so much. As she looked into the starry depths she noticed that she was wrong. Her stars had begun to fade visibly, but only a very, very slight amount. Still, she could feel her tail puff out in distress as she closed her eyes, trying to calm herself before someone found her here. She couldn't be seen scared like this. Not now.

A white shape padded up beside the brown she-cat. "Falconstar," her voice was soft, "It's alright to be frightened." The white she-cat was Moonstar, one of the five original prophecy cats. Her blue and green eyes twinkled like the stars, however cliche that was. Sitting down beside her friend, the white cat looked into the pool. "My stars have begun to fade," she continued, "Even now, the faintest hints of the symptoms creep up on me. But there is no need to be scared." [ here you are!]

all that i'm living for all that i'm dying for all that i can't ignore alone at night Falconstar looked over, only very slightly surprised it was one of their quartet. She sighed, eyes trailing back to the pool of what could be called water.
I just can`t help but wonder what will happen if our stars will fade completely. Maybe they won`t, but...
Her eyes saddened and her paws massaged the ground. Quickly, though her eyes changed to show determination.
I can`t believe we`ve lived two lives only to die after death. We`ve got to figure this out Moonstar.

Moonstar nuzzled the other softly. "We'll figure this out," she purred, her quiet optimism showing again, "So maybe we'll go through another death. We've been born twice, so what else is there but another death." Turning her head, the white cat looked at those behind them. "It seems to come slower for us," Moonstar commented, "Most are already feeling the more painful things. My stars just began to fade when the sun rose in the mortal world."

all that i'm living for all that i'm dying for all that i can't ignore alone at night Either that, or it's just spreading through us slowly, like greencough.
Falaconstar leaned slightly against her old friend, so their shoulders touched. Most wouldn't get this close unless they were families or mates, but two life times with each other had made them that closer, or maybe closer. Deciding to turn to a happier note, she peered into the pool to have a quick view into another old friend's life.
I wonder when Wiseheart will join us. She may have only had one life, but she's managed to keep it longer than us with our nine lives.
She purred in amusement, finding it better to distract herself than order herself not to worry. Of course, this idea was shot down a moment later.
You know that you're just going to think about it again later.
It was the previous Falconstar, forever trapped inside her head. Her face twisted in annoyance.
Leave me alone, party pooper.

"Ah Wiseheart,"Moonstar chuckled softly, "She is greatly missed. But let her live out her life. She'll join us when she's ready." The white cat joined her friend in looking into the pool, but was looking for somone else. "Coralsong?" she murmured, "He shouldn't be dead yet. I think he was alive when I passed on." Her starry tail flicked around behind her, partially in annoyance, partially in confusion. How do you not know? Look among the stars around you. the voice was the elder Moonstar, probably just like Falconstar was hearing her old self again.

all that i'm living for all that i'm dying for all that i can't ignore alone at night Falconstar peered into the pool, also searching for Moonstar's brother. She smiled softly as she found the Shadeclan elder's den. There was the tortoiseshell tom who, if it wouldn't have broken the warrior's code, might have stolen her heart. Moonstar had never been told, but she might know anyway. But it still stayed unspoken. Straining herself, she picked up the faintest of sounds as he regaled some kits with a story.
I spun around when I heard a yowl behind me, and that's when I saw her. A beautiful leopard-spotted tabby, right in between me and the rogue who almost got me. I'd seen her before, really, but never knew her. We fought for a few minutes back to back, and even I've never seen such moves.
With his tired bones he attempted to demonstrate some and Falconstar's eyes closed happily. The day of the final battle had been the day of their meeting. He never mentioned her name, though he knew it well by now, but she knew he was talking about her. She had saved him--Only that once, they'd never fought against each other or together again. But there had been gatherings, a rare night where they would exchange pleasant conversation. And it was those times Falconstar had wished for no warrior code. Her older self had never spoken against her feelings, and she had a hunch that the previous Falconstar had run into the same troubles.

"Ah Coralsong," Moonstar murmured, "even in his old age he tries to be like a kit." She paused though, catching all of what her brother had said. Her tail tip flicked gently again, but not in anger, in amusement. "He's talking about you, isn't he?" she asked, turning her head to her friend, "Never before had we seen someone like you, well, I had, but that's because I'm old than I look." The white she-cat winked gently and turned back to the pool.

all that i'm living for all that i'm dying for all that i can't ignore alone at night Falconstar's pelt fluffed up a bit in slight embarrassment, and she stared somewhere else than at Moonstar's brother.
Yes. He is.
A smile crept on her face unbidden, but she didn't bother hiding it away again anymore. There was no longer a point; Moonstar already pretty much knew.

"If only," Moonstar purred, flicking her tail onto her friend, "I don't mind, you know. None of the ShadeClan cats were really suited for him." A smiled crept onto her face as well, and she put herself in Falconstar's line of sight. "The same was true for me," she continued, "None of the toms in ShadowClan were kind enough to be with me. All of them were just a little too greedy."

all that i'm living for all that i'm dying for all that i can't ignore alone at night As much as it helps, the code also hinders, really.
Falconstar was completely distracted from the dilemma now, as she turned her gaze on Moonstar with a curious glint in her eyes.
Did you ever have your eyes on anyone in particular?

"No," Moonstar purred, "But if he was out there, he would've found me." The starry cat looked back at her friend, a joking twinkle in the odd eyes. "I mean," she continued, a laugh creeping into her voice, "I'm brighter than the leafbare snows!"

all that i'm living for all that i'm dying for all that i can't ignore alone at night Falconstar chuckled, with a purr mixed in.
Yes, that's true.
She looked around at the stars surrounding them. It was times like this that her mind wandered from subject to subject quite freely, and most the time quickly as well.
I wonder where Brightstar is? I haven't talked to her in awhile.

"She's around," Moonstar murmured, staring into the pool. The pool still fascinated her, even after being with StarClan for a while. Though, since the prophecy was made she had avoided it like the plague. "It still ceases to amaze me that we all came together," she whispered, "Even in the midst of something terrible like the war. Different clans, but the link of the old leaders was strong. That's how I knew that we were special." Her quiet wisdom was showing again, but she tried to hold it back. "I still remember that first Gathering where Moonstar was silent. She wouldn't talk to me," she giggled slightly, "But I found out why later. She didn't want to give away that you, Petalpaw, and Brightpaw were Falconstar, Petalstar, and Brightstar."

all that i'm living for all that i'm dying for all that i can't ignore alone at night I can't say the same for Falconstar. Of course, she tried to make me meet different apprentices, and not you three. It was quite hilarious really.
She chuckled at the memory, which turned into joyful laughter as Falconstar began stuttering and trying to make up excuses in her mind. She turned away from the pool and back towards the camp.
We should head back. In a time like this, they'll need someone solid to turn to, and I personally can't say much for most of the Skyclan leaders. I swear, some of the deputies are doing a better job then them.
